Audit Positions 

Associate, Audit

We are seeking a college graduate who is eligible to take the CPA exam. We provide in-depth assurance training developed in-house by HSS staff, so it is tailored to your needs and the needs of our clients.  You will work directly with seniors, managers and partners on your audit rotations to develop and build your skills and confidence as an accountant. The successful candidate will be proficient in all aspects of audit engagement.  This position requires candidates to have a genuine interest in developing a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ business and tax environments, as well as providing a proactive year-round tax planning approach.

A successful team member enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and demonstrates organization, technical skill, and effective communication.  This team member will be in a position to work closely with engagement partners, interact with great clients, and will have opportunities for staff supervision and advancement.

Audit Manager

We are seeking an experienced, audit focused CPA with five or more years of public accounting experience. This role is responsible for the full cycle (start to finish) management of audit, review and compilation engagements.  This role is client facing, so experience with client management is required, as is business development.

Internships

Audit Intern

About the Position:

As an audit intern with HSS, you will be provided an experience that closely mirrors that of a new associate.  Your internship starts with intensive training on software, fieldwork and team processes.  Training culminates with the completion of two mock audits.  After, you’ll join our professional staff at multiple client sites (minimum of 3 assigned jobs), performing fieldwork as a member of our professional team.  The internship is designed to help you get a sense of what your future professional life will entail, and to help you lay a foundation for career mastery.

We like to work hard and play hard.  Summer interns will have the opportunity to play on the HSS softball team, enjoy the Firm’s summer picnic, and spend social time with their new colleagues over lunch and coffee.

Tax Intern

About the Position:

As a tax intern with HSS, you will be provided an experience that closely mirrors that of a new associate.  Your internship starts with an intensive week-long training on personal income tax preparation, with a focus on software and firm work processes.  Training culminates with the completion of multiple mock returns.  Once training is complete, you will participate fully in the HSS tax season,  joining our professional team in preparing individual tax returns. The internship is designed to help you get a sense of what your future professional life will entail, and to help you lay a foundation for career mastery.

We like to work hard and play hard. We have a lot of tax returns to prepare, but we also take time to throw in a little fun! We offer Saturday lunches, complete with games, as well as a post-busy season celebration.
